Where the Painted Tree Vendors Landed

If you shopped Painted Tree in Crestview Hills, you probably remember the middle of April. That is when the doors locked. There was no warning on the window, no closing sale, no last weekend to say goodbye.

Painted Tree closed locations nationwide, more than sixty of them, including Crestview Hills and the Cincinnati store. Vendors were notified around the closure and given a short window to retrieve inventory. Reporting since then has described bankruptcy-related proceedings, and some sellers have said they were still waiting on spring sales.

What happened next is the part worth writing down. These were not chain tenants. They were small local brands, many of them one or two people, who had built a customer base inside somebody else's building. Most of them kept going.

This is a living list of where some of those makers can be found now. It is not everyone, and it will grow.

Cards by Jakob makes greeting cards, art prints, hoodies and calendars, and sells through an Etsy storefront and Facebook.

Sawdust and Cedar had only recently moved into the Crestview Hills store when it closed. The shop sells directly through its own site, Facebook and Instagram.

Crooked Creek Lifestyle, a faith-based lifestyle brand, offered to help other vendors pack and ship their inventory in the days after the closure. The brand is reachable through its social pages.

Aspire & Glo, Dresser Up Vintage Boutique, Ana Grace Collection, The Lavender Sachet and Mandy Mae'd Personalized Creations are all still selling through their own websites and social channels. Their profiles are linked below.

Some former Painted Tree buildings in the region now have new retail tenants, and other former sellers have regrouped into new multi-vendor shops. We are still confirming those details before naming them here.
