Pumpkin walks, community festivals, movies, music and Halloween events happening around Northern Kentucky. Updated September 15, 2026.

Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31 this year, but you do not have to wait until Halloween night to find something to do.

Northern Kentucky's fall calendar starts filling up in early October with community festivals, pumpkin events, movies, live entertainment and family activities. This guide focuses only on events with 2026 dates we can confirm now.

Boos & Brews Trunk or Treat

Independence

Friday, October 9, 6 to 8 p.m.

A free community trunk-or-treat organized by the City of Independence.

Halloween Movie Night

Campbell County Public Library, Alexandria Branch

Friday, October 9, 5 to 8 p.m.

A costume party and "Hocus Pocus" double feature for tweens and teens. Registration is required.

Jack-O-Lantern Festival

Randolph Park, Covington

Saturday, October 17, 5 to 8 p.m.

Covington's 2026 program guide lists trunk-or-treating, arts and crafts, food, games and contests at the David Housley Pavilion.

Halloween Fun & Flick

General Ormsby Mitchel Park, Fort Mitchell

Saturday, October 24, 7 to 9 p.m.

The city is planning a costume contest followed by "Hotel Transylvania" at 7:30 p.m. Bring chairs or blankets for the movie.

Florence Y'alloween Fest

Thomas More Stadium, Florence

Tuesday, October 27, 6 to 8 p.m.

Florence's free family Halloween event returns to Thomas More Stadium. The city has opened 2026 vendor registration and current local event listings confirm the October 27 date.

Pumpkin Walk

Tower Park, Fort Thomas

Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30, starting at 6 p.m.

The City of Fort Thomas has both nights on its 2026 calendar.

Witching Hour at the Tower

Tower Park, Fort Thomas

Friday, October 30, 8 p.m.

A Halloween dance at the Armory, scheduled after the Pumpkin Walk.

Haunted Fest

MegaCorp Pavilion, Newport

Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31

A two-night music festival at MegaCorp Pavilion. The current venue listing marks the event as all ages. Check the individual night before buying because lineups and ticket details can change.

Carrie: The Musical

The Carnegie, Covington

October 23 through November 1

There are two performances on Halloween: 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The 2 p.m. performance is one of The Carnegie's current First Show Free dates for eligible new households, while availability lasts.

Want a family event early in the month? Independence and the Campbell County Public Library both have events on October 9.

Want a community festival? Covington's Jack-O-Lantern Festival is October 17, followed by Florence Y'alloween Fest on October 27.

Want a Fort Thomas Halloween night? The Pumpkin Walk runs October 29 and 30, followed by the Witching Hour dance on October 30.

Want live entertainment? Haunted Fest is at MegaCorp on October 30 and 31, and "Carrie: The Musical" runs October 23 through November 1 at The Carnegie.
